The use of video marketing has been growing over the past few years and continues to constantly evolve becoming increasingly important. It is effortless to watch a video, that may contain the same information as an article; but how much easier and more engaging it is to see something visually, rather than scanning text. Visual communication in this way works so well; that’s why TV advertising is so costly, because it is often the most effective. Statistics show that only 10% of people on the Internet will read to the bottom of your article, whereas 40% will watch a video until the end. This gives you, as a company more time to show your target audience your message, brand, and offering. It has also been shown that 81% of companies used video marketing in 2017, which is up from 63% in the previous year.
There are three main reasons for making a video – to introduce a product, sell a product or service, or to create a subscription channel. If you create a subscription channel, whenever you post a new video, people who subscribe to your channel will be notified. This may then lead to further “shares” on other social networks, which in turn gets your message out there further. Whatever the objectives behind your video, it is worth knowing that search engines LOVE videos, and Google rates videos much higher than text!
