From Marketing to Gareth Malone’s Military Wives Prom Choir

EmOur new Administrative and Marketing Assistant, Emmeline Maline has been turning her hand to singing in her spare time. Emmeline is a Military Wife and has been involved in the Brize Norton Military Wives Choir since it formed in March 2013.

In April 2014, Emmeline auditioned for Gareth Malone’s Military Wives Prom Choir, to perform as part of the War Horse Prom 22 in the Royal Albert Hall; part of the commemoration of the start of WW1. She was one of the 100 women who were     fortunate to be chosen, and a 2 part documentary following the women on their journey is to be aired on BBC2 at 9pm on 16th December.

Emmeline has recently joined us here at CBW, returning to her Marketing roots after staying at home to look after her three children.

Google’s answer boxes – what’s it all about?

google-answersThis month, we thought we’d turn our attention to the growing prominence of answer boxes which are increasingly turning up on Google’s search pages when you type in a question. And they are also appearing more regularly – in fact an upsurge of 44% according to the Moz.com blog – because we’re using longer strings of words when we’re looking for something online.

Google's search quality evaluation guidelines have recently found their way onto the internet. These are the criteria by which Google’s human website testers judge the quality of a website. Although this leak of information from inside Google HQ doesn’t exactly breach any national security measures, it nevertheless proves a valuable read for those with an interest in maintaining their online presence.
